Your Family Cadonau

Dario Cadonau runs the hotel together with his wife Tamara who has several years’ experience in the hospitality business. In his capacity as chef and owner, Dario lives the dream he has always nurtured. After his apprenticeship as cook at the Suvretta-House in St. Moritz he worked for various stars of the restaurant scene: for the 19-point chef Philippe Rochat in Crissier, at Bumann’s 18-point gourmet restaurant Chesa Pirani in La Punt and finally in Germany for the 19-point chef Harald Wohlfahrt at the Traube Tonbach.

After that Dario Cadonau graduated from the college of hotel management Belvoirpark in Zurich. This was the moment when, after successful years away from home, he felt the pull of his native Engadine where he gathered more valuable experience. His entrepreneurial spirit and his hands-on approach, his passion for the hotel project and his dedication to detail, which he proved daily as the construction-site manager of his own hotel: all these qualities have pre-destined him to be a successful entrepreneur with great personal charisma.  

The special flair of the young hosts is at the heart of the promise of the carefree, enjoyable stay that awaits our guests. We don’t just talk about service, we deliver it!  

After obtaining a commercial diploma, Tamara Cadonau became receptionist at the Central Plaza Hotel in Zurich. The communicative young woman soon found her feet in the hospitality business and developed a real enthusiasm for her vocation. After two years she decided to go back to her native canton of Aargau. At the Seminar-Hotel Seerose on the shores of Lake Hallwil she found a new professional challenge, working at reception.  

During two more years Tamara gathered sales experience at the company Swiss-Sales in Horgen. Finding suitable premises and hotels for clients as well as organising events all over Switzerland was an interesting and instructive experience. However, she felt homesick again for Lake Hallwil, so she decided to return to the Seerose. Tamara’s new range of responsibilities: sales, communication and marketing. In addition, she acted as assistant to the management in various functions. In autumn 2008 Tamara completed her professional in-service training as PR specialist with the Federal Certificate.  

Since early April 2009 the beautiful valley of the Engadine has become the centre of Tamara’s life. Together with Dario she runs the IN LAIN Hotel Cadonau. Little sun Jan Luis is born on 21th of december 2013.
